Aspect: The Strategic Communication Experts has completed the acquisition of Aberdeen-based Web Integrations for an undisclosed six-figure sum. The acquisition will strengthen Aspect’s core proposition with the addition of in-house digital consultancy, digital marketing, website design and development and SEO expertise, to meet growing demand from clients.
Established in 2002, Web Integrations is a leading digital consultancy with a large portfolio of clients across a range of sectors in Scotland, the UK and internationally. With a proven track record in website design and development, its talented team has built an enviable reputation across the digital communication mix.
Ewan Duthie, formerly Managing Director of Web Integrations, has been appointed Digital Director at Aspect and joins the company’s leadership team alongside Andrew and Yvonne McCallum and Communication Directors, Jenny Adams and Leona Minellas. Aynsley Smith, Senior Designer, Ryan Duncan, Lead Developer, and Stephen Anindo, Developer, have also joined Aspect’s 50-strong team of employees and associates.
Ongoing work to transition Web Integrations into the Aspect business will be completed in early 2023. Meanwhile, the team remains focused on delivering high-quality strategic communication solutions for its clients.
At the same time, following three years of significant growth, which has seen the Aspect core team grow from five to 22 employees, the company has also invested in a new headquarters (HQ) at 42 Carden Place. The purchase and high-spec refurbishment is a welcome boost for Aberdeen’s West End business district after several tough years.
Andrew McCallum, Founder and CEO said:
“We’re very pleased to have completed the acquisition of Web Integrations and we’re excited to welcome Ewan and his talented team to Aspect. Combining their specialist digital capability with Aspect’s expertise in marketing and brand, content creation, media relations, public affairs and stakeholder engagement, enhances our integrated strategic communication consultancy.
“Moving to our new HQ is a big moment for us. While continuing to prioritise a flexible, hybrid way of working, the move brings the Aspect team together in one location for the first time. It creates a space to work with our clients, inspire creativity and ideas, let our culture flourish, and importantly, it provides room for further growth.
“We expect our strong growth in 2022 to continue in 2023, in our existing sectors and geographies, in new markets, and through further strategic acquisitions. To support our strategy, we’ve launched a search for three senior roles – Marketing and Campaigns Lead, Media Relations and Content Lead, and Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Lead.
“With our diverse portfolio of clients in complex, issue-rich sectors, our commitment to personal and professional development, and the opportunity to have a positive impact on many of the biggest challenges shaping our society, it’s an exciting time to join Aspect.”
Ewan Duthie, Digital Director said:
“We’ve been strategic partner of Aspect for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed working with Andrew and his team on a wide range of projects. There’s always been a strong relationship between our two organisations, so I’m naturally very excited about what the future holds.
“I’m particularly looking forward to creating an integrated digital offering for Aspect’s clients and introducing Web Integrations’ clients to the breadth of strategic communication expertise and capability that exists across the Aspect team.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved at Web Integrations through the hard work and dedication of our small but very capable team and the support of our clients. There’s lots to do but the opportunities are endless.”
